Thank you all for attending our class today and providing so many excellent questions, answers, and opinions.
As promised, the PowerPoint is attached, below, along with a list of Resources that you can consult for further information.
• For those who wondered what happens if the TEP Franchise Agreement is rejected by the voters, please note the two documents concerning Prop #421 which are on the Resource list. The bottom line is that TEP can continue to provide electric service to Tucson, but may need to go to the city for individual permits each time they intend to work in public rights-of-way.
• You can also find an answer to the question about Prop #425, the increase to the Expenditure Limit. We wondered what the County has done in the past when the Expenditure Limit prevented the County from using the income received to fully meet the needs of the County. The Resource List includes a FAQ that addresses this question and others. In summary, Pima County has been at or near its Expenditure Limit for several years. The County has been able to comply with the Limit by managing debt and utilizing carry forward deductions allowed under statute.
If you have other questions, please let us know, and we will try to address them.
Happy Voting!
